CORE FUNCTION:
To generate maximum profitable sales through the development and execution of an annual sales plan which meets or exceeds AGI Fertilizer’s financial targets and incorporates AGI’s strategic direction.

SCOPE:  
Sales of all AGI Fertilizer Products and Systems (Junge and Yargus brands) in North America

REPORTING: 
Directly to General Manager, AGI Fertilizer 

REPORTING PERSONNEL:
AGI Fertilizer regional sales representatives, National Account Managers,Project Managers

LATERAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Vice President, AGI International Sales
  • Operations Manager Junge
  • Operations Manager Yargus
  • Director Strategic Accounts, North America Commercial
  • Director US Sales, Grain Storage System – AGI

AUTHORITY:

  1. The Sales Manager, AGI Fertilizer is appointed by the GM AGI Fertilizer, who shall delegate sufficient authority to enable successful performance.
  2. To enforce, within the context of reasonableness, the terms and conditions of sales and marketing programs.
  3. To recommend to and assist the AGI team with the analysis of new product lines and acquisition opportunities 
  4. To control relevant expenses to the extent of approved budget.
  5. To recommend acceptable levels of exposure on individual accounts.
  6. To manage and develop the business relationships of all existing AGI fertilizer accounts.
  7. To Connection to Support / Service teams assuring customer satisfaction

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and direct the AGI Fertilizer sales plan.
  2. Development and growth for AGI Fertilizer solutions 
  3. Achieve sales goals by product and region as set out in the annual budget for Junge and Yargus brands.
  4. Maintain positive and productive relations with potential and existing customers and other industry contacts.
  5. Compile, analyze and distribute sales statistics.
  6. Monitor accounts and assist with collections.
  7. Manage tradeshows, coordinating with all divisions and AGI Sales / Marketing
  8. Evaluate sales effectiveness by region, division and major account and recommend improvements.
  9. Gather competitive intelligence for strategic analysis.
  10. Manage all aspects of the project managers
  11. Create, manage and enforce sales department budget.
  12. Work as part of the General Manager’s operational staff to achieve all corporate and divisional annual plan objectives.
  13. Collaborate with, and communicate clearly to internal and external team members including customers, millwrights and sales team
  14. Proficiently manage complicated projects from inception through project turnover including design management, general contractor management, budget maintenance, financial forecasting, cash flow, pay applications, contracts, sub contracts, monthly reports, project schedule and regulatory paperwork
  15. Conduct regular update meetings to verify compliance with approved plans
  16. Identify project risk, elevate potential issues to senior management and propose logical solutions to eliminate these risks
  17. Provide timely follow up on jobs that are in the quoting process
  18. Plan and control all scheduling activities for production with the Master Scheduler.
  19. Maintain metrics dashboard
  20. Process monthly metrics for Sales Department and present them at the walk about and management
  21. review.
  22. Manage the SQDCM issues from outside sales team to internal departments and follow up.
  23. Manage weekly, monthly and quarterly departmental meetings
  24. Manage daily interaction with Costing/Quoting/Sales Drafting Departments, establishing & assisting when needed with sales priorities
  25. Manages outside Sales Team for internal needs – quotes, drawings, automation, engineering needs.
  26. Assist with preparing quotes, proposals, and presentations when needed.
  27. Travel when needed to a conference, trade shows or customer locations.
  28. Help with customer follow up with outstanding invoices when needed
  29. Other duties as assigned.
  30. Entice key customers to come to the Innovation Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  
  31. Work one on one to train and develop sales team members from both JCI and Yargus.  

ACCOUNTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS:

  1. Variance to budget, sales and EBITDA 
  2. Effectiveness as a communicator, leader and team coach .
  3. Accuracy of programs, quotations.
  4. Level of customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Manual dexterity-rarely (writing, handling small items)
  2. Firm grasp-continuously 

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE:

  1. May spend extended periods of time both inside office and outside at customer sites. 
  2. Temperature exposures may be 50-100 degrees, and outside varies between -10- 100 degrees + with high humidity in summer.
  3. Bachelor's degree Construction or Business Management, Engineering or equivalent related field required
  4. Consideration will be given to B to B sales and marketing experience.  
  5. Comfort with agricultural industry.  
  6. Must be a dynamic leader who is comfortable with transformative change and a sincere collaborator who can team across-functions in pursuit of company business goals.
  7. Ability to travel national and globally
  8. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  1. Qualified applicant will have superior communication skills and attention to detail.
  2. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
  3. Past work experience in a sales capacity is a plus
  4. Must ensure operation of the department run in an efficient and timely manner
  5. Strong business acumen for departmental as well as division goal setting and achievement.
